ATI WiFi Enabled T5 LED Powermodule Hybrid: How to Create Custom LED Colors

T5 lighting is balanced, easy to use and provides time tested coral growing power. LED lighting is energy efficient, powerful and also provides both amazing color and output control. The ATI LED Powermodule combines the coral growing power of T5’s with the customization and programmability of LED’s.

The LED Powermodule comes pre-programmed with a number of preset color options for your LED clusters.  Most folks find an LED color combination they like from one of the preconfigured color options, however you also have the ability to create your own custom LED colors from scratch.

To view the existing color options or create your own custom LED color, select the “Colors” button just to the right of the ATI logo in the upper top menu bar as shown below.

To create a custom LED color, click the + button in the lower left as shown below.

When creating a new LED color, the following settings are required:

  1. Relative Intensity of 255 for at least one color: At least 1 of the sliders MUST be all the way to the right at 255. This number indicates the relative intensity to the other colors. For example, if Blue is set to 255 and Royalblue is set to 127, then the Blue LEDs will be twice as bright relative to the Royalblue LEDs when using this LED color.
  2. Name: Add a color name to the Name field that properly describes the color.
  3. Display Color: Select a display color for your new color in the field just to the right of the Name. This is the color each set point using this color will display in the programming graph.

Each LED cluster contains the following 4 unique LED color channels:

  • Blue Channel: In the 470 nm range, this LED color channel appears as the color of the sky directly overhead on a clear day. This is one of the most commonly used and one of the most popular blue LED’s on the market.
  • Royal Blue Channel: In the 450 nm range, this LED color channel is also blue in color, however, it has a purplish hue to it that creates a richer/deeper blue color vs the 470nm blue. This is also a popular and commonly used blue LED’s.
  • Violet Channel: Combination of UV at 405 nm and Violet at 425 nm, this LED color channel will cause capable corals to fluoresce and is commonly used for both moonlights as well as to simulate dusk and dawn.
  • White Channel: In the 6500K Kelvin range, this LED color channel is a crisp white color used to simulate the daylight color of the sun.

The settings for an example custom LED color we created called “Blue+ & ABS” are shown below:

To use your newly created LED color, return to the Chart page, click the desired set point and then click the color button in the toolbar. Follow the same procedure to apply your newly created LED color to any additional set points.

To save your updated program, select the “File” button, name your file and select a location on your computer where you want to save it. To load your program to your fixture, select the “Save” button. Doing this will override the current program on your fixture and replace it with the newly created program.
